Downtown Phoenix City Hall Intimate Elopement
Most photographers might tell you that mid-day for photos, in Phoenix especially is not ideal.
While that might be true, and golden hour evening or sunrise is always the best for natural light and dreamy intimate portraits, sometimes you have to break those rules.
This intimate micro-wedding elopement in downtown required just that.
This beautiful couple wanted an intimate downtown court house wedding with family.
We planned that day to do a photo session mid-day, since the court house did not open for ceremonies, until 5:00pm.
The bride sent me her Pinterest board of inspiration images that she loved, which I was happy to replicate the dreamy and intimate imagery. We met at the Phoenix City Hall, which is not where the ceremony takes place, but is a popular backdrop scene for court house and downtown elopements.

1. Downtown Phoenix City Hall
We started the photo session in front of the City hall entrance, adjacent to the more popular photographed City hall side, due to the bright mid-day sun. We began photographing the First Look of the bride and groom. This is such an intimate documentary moment that was so special to capture.
2. Family Portraits in front of the City Hall
F & C were an amazing and kind couple to work with. Loved capturing them and their family portraits in front of the city hall entrance.
3. Court House Micro-wedding | Intimate Elopement
The ceremony took place at Maricopa County Justice Courts, a different location from the Phoenix City Hall, since they no longer do court house ceremonies there anymore. It is still very near and in the downtown Phoenix area. We took about a one-and-a-half hour break before meeting back at the Maricopa County Justice Courts for this ceremony.
4. Post Court House Ceremony | Family Portraits
Family portraits to commemorate and end the elopement photo session. Taken outside of the Maricopa County Justice Courts.
